Ed Thompson is president of Northchase Development LLC, one of Tyler's premier developers. His business acumen, which includes technical, administrative and financial talents, has enabled him to conceptualize and to execute business strategies. His business insight and professional integrity justify the high regard, which he has earned from business and community leaders.

Summary of Professional Accomplishments-Business

Until March 2008, Mr. Thompson held the position of President of Thompson Wood Development Inc. where he was associated with every phase of the organization since 2000. As president, Mr. Thompson was responsible for the integration of staff and technology to satisfy the client and project needs. Other responsibilities included environmental documentation, land planning, home design, and project management contract, business administration and business development. The company's projects included community planning inclusive of land use, home construction and storm sewers including storm drainage, underground utility networks all in accordance with the requirements of local state and federal governing.

On December 10, 2007, Mr. Thompson and his three partners acquired 405 acres and created North Chase. This move allowed Mr. Thompson to now focus on building client relations, business development, corporate strategy, visioning, culture integration and community activities on a project of this magnitude.

Mr. Thompson has accumulated over 30 years of volunteer services through various organization including the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Tyler Area Builders Association, Texas State Board of Plumbers Examiners, Advisory Council for BancorpSouth Bank, Smith County Commissioner's Court Committee on Hear Haul Permits and many more business and civic organizations.

As a philanthropist, Mr. Thompson supports Meals on Wheels, March of Dimes, the East Texas Crisis Center, PATH, the East Texas Food Bank, and Salvation Army.

Thompson is on the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and chair of the Audit and Training Committee. He has received various awards-Citizen of the Year being one.

Qualifications

Mr. Thompson's knowledge of the building trade is extensive. He has 30 years experience as and electrician in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. He has 13 years of experience with new developments working closely with project engineers, architects, and local building officials. He completed the Community Minority Business Advancement Program administered by the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Thompson is a native of Tyler, Texas and attended Chapel Hill High School.

Mr. Thompson and his wife Melvenia have been married for 2 years. They have 2 daughters, one son and three grandchildren. One daughter is a student of Tyler Junior College.
